Government Action Required To Kick-Start Development in Wollongong

The Rees Labor Government’s decision to reduce State infrastructure levies to cut the cost of developing land in north west and south west Sydney, covering West Dapto but not Wollongong, fails to take account of the desperate need to stimulate construction in Wollongong City and recession-proof jobs in the Illawarra, Shadow Minister for the Illawarra Greg Pearce said today.

Unemployment Highlights Need For Government Action On OH&S And Business Regulatory Reform

“Today’s unemployment figures showing NSW’s unemployment continues to be well above the rest of Australia at 5.2% (4.5% nationally) should instil a sense of urgency in the State government to get on with measures to help business and retain jobs in the State” Shadow Minister for Financial Management, Housing Strategy and Industrial Relations, Greg Pearce, said today.
