The Rees Labor Government has again bowed to union pressure at the expense of NSW businesses in a move which will inevitably increase unnecessary red tape and cost the State crucial jobs, Shadow Minister for Financial Management Greg Pearce said today.

Shadow Minister for Financial Management and the Illawarra Greg Pearce and Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock today said Matt Brown’s decision to have a $250-a-head fundraising lunch with Treasurer Eric Roozendaal in Sydney instead of attending Nathan Rees’ Illawarra jobs talkfest shows even the Labor Members thought the jobs summit was a talkfest.

With the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics confirming that NSW is the main drag on the national economy, Shadow Minister for the Illawarra Greg Pearce today called on the Rees Labor Government to cut out the talkfests and take immediate action to protect local jobs and to provide training places for the Illawarra’s school leavers.
